Programs engage in evaluation for any of several different reasons ranging from assuring quality/identifying needed changes to demonstrating efficacy for funding sources. In some cases, there are prescribed formats and frameworks, typically from funding sources. In other cases, the organizations must design their own framework. In either case, we have extensive experience developing and implementing rigorous evaluation programs. Our work has varied in complexity from simple single-program efforts to complex multi-program multi-year efforts. We can help to design and plan the evaluation, develop metrics and instruments, gather and analyze data, and generate quality evaluation reports based on client needs.
Stakeholder Planning and Process Management
The notion of "working with stakeholders" can cover a great deal of ground in terms of subject matter. Regardless of the specific issue or issues, however, the concepts of working with stakeholders translate well across different subject areas. Stakeholders, by the very definition of the term, have important stakes in how an organization designs and delivers programs and services. Our body of work includes a number of complex efforts involving stakeholder processes in areas ranging from regulation recommendations to community needs assessments.
The idea of "change management" is also a term with a very wide range of application. Indeed, in today's human services environment change is the norm and maintenance of status quo over long periods of time is the exception. While organizations are frequently very good at defining and describing the end result of the change, what we frequently find is that the process of moving from the "here and now" to the future state is not as well defined. We can help organizations to create compelling visions of the future and put processes in place to help manage the transition.
Starting or expanding an organization should be subjected to a business planning process. While many associate business plans with pursuit of funding, solid business planning should also be a crucial decision-making tool for agency policy makers. We have experience in business planning in the not-for-profit sector. We can tailor the format to your needs or, if you prefer, use a recommended template relevant to your type of organization and services.

Over the past twenty years of serving Alaskan organizations, we have covered a lot of ground. Much of our work has fallen into the categories listed above. We have, however, often embarked on new projects in response to specific client needs. Projects have ranged from more formalized research projects to analyses of complex service delivery systems. If what you need does not clearly fall into one of the areas noted above, just drop me a note and let me know what you need.
